Do Painted Cabinets Chip Over Time? An Honest Answer.
Просмотров 6 тыс.Год назад
I made this video to inform consumers from an honest trade perspective. Stick to the end to see the difference between new cabinets and Refinished. There is no magical “Bulletproof” coating on the market. As refinishers, we can put on a 2 component primer and topcoat. But it will still chip if someone drops a cast iron pan or repeatedly drags a Diamond across the surface of it. It is still just...
1 Simple Tool to get Better Videos for Contractors
Просмотров 2332 года назад
A lot of contractors don’t consider video quality when posting online. Posting content is a good thing, but you can take your video quality to a higher level by getting a 3 axis Smartphone Gimbal. They allow you to take nearly cinematic video with your smartphone. No more shaky hands or wobbly videos. A couple things I forgot to mention in the video. Both of these gimbals have apps that allow f...

Testing out our usual Grip Rite Underlayment as floor protection and Felt Buster roofing underlayment to see if it performs any better for the extra material cost. Both are impervious to liquids and extremely difficult to tear, making them great flooring protection for a jobsite when refinishing kitchen cabinetry. This test was to see if the felt buster balled up and produced fibers like the od...

Hi. Have you ever sanded the insides of the cabinet boxes with the festool delta sander? I have to sand some areas inside the kitchen cabinet boxes but theyll stay screwed into the wall. I have to be careful to avoid the screws that are close to the edges... have you done this? If so, let me know the process you followed. Thanks.
this video hurts my soul. same page buddy, same page.
How is the one with a compressor different than the ones like Titan has that takes air from the turbine to help move the paint up?
Da just touch them up. Cheaper than buying cabinets.
Is 220 sandpaper OK after CoverStain primer?
Man it’s actually not that bad. It’s not perfect but it’s not as bad as I was thinking. Curious about what caused the solvent pop
i found a product that can reverse some of the damage that we have done to our lung . i was having all kinds of shit come up from my lungs . afterwards i couldn't handle the lacquer smell anymore.
Not allowing enough cure time between coats will cause pops
Hey. Great videos. What’s your mix ratio for Renner 688 or 851. Do you think it for your Apollo Hvlp? Thanks.
What if the panel is MDF?
Love your video! Very helpful! What brand & type of glaze did you use for the pin-stripping?
The front of my truck shows paint can chip. Living in arizona, you better expect it
It's 2 years since you've done this video, so I"m wondering if you still use this primer for refinishing? Have you had any issues with it in the last 2 years?
Dude. Thanks for such a real video on how a 390 works. A little trial and error.
How much do I charge per sqft in NYC. Complete walls, and ceiling. HOLLANDLAC BLACK
Isocynates go through any respirator. Doesn’t matter what filter. That’s why they’re dangerous. You have to wear an air-fed mask in a suit. The only scenario I wouldn’t is working outside. Isocynates are created by the reaction between two part system.
First I want to say thanks! Ive watched so many videos on this machine but still had issues. After your video, I'm actually painting! You are the man!
Great video. Can the S16 adapter work?
can you use with a graco turbine with that?
Great video! 👍 I’d just like to emphasize to everyone to ALWAYS wear your PPE when working around chemicals, even if you don’t smell them. In 1982 I spray painted a battalion of military vehicles without using any PPE whatsoever. No ventilation or exhaust system either. The paint was called Chemical Agent Resistant Coating and it was a solvent-based aliphatic polyurethane paint. The pigments contained lead and hexavalent chromium. The paint also contained hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), toluene diisocyanate (TDI), xylene, crystalline silica, and a host of other VOCs. I would blow paint out from my nose daily, and the paint also stuck to my eyelashes and hair. A few months ago I had a chest CT for chronic cough, which revealed lung nodules and bibasilar acteletasis (collapsed lower lungs), CT sinus shows polyps and cysts, and I’ve been diagnosed with allergic conjunctivitis. I also have symptoms of Isocyanate sensitivity and am scheduled for allergen testing. Be safe everyone!
Who’s hitting their cabinet with knifes ?
Hvlp is much better than airless idk why anyone uses airless it just wastes material with that horrible transfer efficiency not to mention the risk of skin injection hazard
Did you ever get to the bottom of your problem and did you get perfection if so what was the problem 👍
U need clean shot with that
Great video….can you use the #18 as a gravity gun?
Hey I just started using that same product on a table top and I’m getting similar results. Tried thinning and used a product called flood. Any luck on fixing the solvent pops or the unsatisfactory reflection ?
You need to slow down they drying. You need a retarder.
I am doing a 2k product. I wish proper PPE for this wasn’t so confusing. I have no idea what cartridge I need to buy or if provided air is 100% required. I’m really confused.
Trying to confirm that paint doesn't need to be thinned to use with this machine.
I’ve done some research on the product and follow the same people you mention. I’m no expert with the product, but from what I’ve heard dust extraction is extremely important with that product.
What size tip?
Just ordered 100. Thank you!
it's been a long time, you learned how to do it perfectly?
Heck yeah I got a osmo 6!
👍
You’ll get there. I love your spirit and tenacity.
Worst fukin product ever...no matter what you do it wont work... u need a fukin automotive spray room with vents on floor and ceiling and maybe the n...hollandlac is way overhyped, formula is impossible to work with no matter how you apply this shit.. fukin waste of time
Excellent video👍
Always fukin spec of fukin dust or two, no issues layin the paint it levels like water..,just these motherfukin speks drive me fkn nuts..🤬
Are these still your top picks? I have used Kem Aqua Plus in the past with great results on new work with the Surfacer as a primer . The PDS says previous finishes should be stripped completely. Is your experience different?
Are you sanding between coats?
Ever get any update on that god forsaken solvent pop so many are plagued with?
Soooo satisfying

I’m so excited to fail right now LOL A+
Everyone should have that attitude
Thank you!! I’m really glad I found your stuff because I am *not* a painter and I’m about to fail a whole bunch!
Good video Michael! We all go through the process of getting excited about our amazing new coating we have learned to apply. Then we talk it up so much we get our butts in trouble when the customer mistakenly think it’s bullet proof 😂 And that is where reality leads us….to the wisdom of this video or a change in careers 😂
Yep. I saw an infographic a company was putting out about their product not chipping. I’ve seen the product chip. I chipped it in the video. There’s no bulletproof paint.
can this be brushed and rolled with a 4 inch roller? just started to learn about this paint and im curious to invest my time in it.
excellent...thank you so much for the video series. watched them all and I appreciate it.
Awesome work. Those doors look like glass! Thanks for the videos
That was a really rough kitchen and you guys made it look great. Excellent attention to detail. Your videos are packed with so much information. I really appreciate you putting it together.
